La mwbgCD154, anche chiamata mwbwCD40 ligando o semplicemente mwcaCD40L, è una mwcqproteina espressa soprattutto nei mwcglinfociti T attivati e facente parte della superfamiglia del mwcwTNFcite-ref-entrezgene-1-0[1].

Si lega al CD40 presente sulle mwegantigen-presenting cell (APC) agendo come co-attivatorecite-ref-entrezgene-1-1[1]. In particolare, il legame CD40/CD40L attiva i mwfwlinfociti B stimolandoli a formare i mwgacentri germinativi, porta le mwgqcellule dendritiche ad aumentare la produzione di molecole stimolatorie e mwggcitochine (licensing delle cellule dendritiche), e aumenta l'attività microbicida dei mwgwmacrofagi.
